I am developing a new way to illustrate film schedules (from per-production through post-production) and am looking for several test cases. Services will be free-of-charge as there will most likely be a learning curve on both sides, but I believe the end product will result in a more efficient project which and better planning to head off potential problems. I work for a scheduling consulting firm in Atlanta, GA which specializes in program and project management. We helped in the program management for the Atlanta Olympics in 1996 and most recently were involved in the schedule management for the Mercedes Benz Stadium, State Farm Arena renovation, and are assisting the Atlanta Hawks in streamlining their season-to-season program management (ticketing, parking, employee on-boarding, etc.). We use a specialized, visual scheduling format to clearly communicate all the necessary activities and have been successful in organizing multiple parties so everyone is on the same page. While our business has been mostly focused on the construction industry (as evident by the website), I am investigating the possibility of using our system for a holistic approach to film scheduling. This would include showing the whole project, from per-production to post-production, on the same schedule to hopefully better prepare and manage a project. These schedules can also be cost-loaded, so you could potentially see the cash-flow of the project as it moves from month-to-month.
I understand that the regular production scheduling method is through stripboards (at least that's what I've been able to research), and I truly believe we could use our format to provide a more "whole project" approach.

As a follow up, I've been working on an example of what how this scheduling format would work using an old script (one of the Bourne films). I've included steps for location scouting/confirmation, catering, and trailer set-ups and removals. This could get as complex or simple as the project needs, and the various tasks could be collapsed onto themselves to reduce some of the clutter.
The idea is for all the necessary steps be shown on one sheet and see the relationships between them to maximize efficiency. I would love to test this with an actual project, so let me know if anyone is interested.
