My name is Daniele Violi (it's italian, not a girl's name).
First question is in regards to copyright protection. I've searched copyright on the forum but nothing seems to answer: Does one usually copyright a short? I have a ten minute short I wanted to maybe post on youtube to show it around to friends and whatnot. I consider this short very valuable to me, but I don't really understand how someone could "steal" it or utilize it in some way that may come back to haunt me later on.
Second was just general about short films: where can I watch some good student films that others have made? Are there any communities (kinda like studentfilmakers.com) that have some news about student films around the US or world? Is there any resource that has coverage on student film festivals, winners and nominations? I didn't seem to find any place on this forum that acts as a sort of showcase: is there anything of the likes around? I really want to see what others are up to, share my own, give and get feedback, all that jazz.
