David,
Have a two parter here! Have been watching a slightly older music video for the band "bloc party" and am wondering how they created TWO effects
http://youtube.com/watch?v=dzZQJZdcCU4
A: the rig on the talent -- both in the begining when it rotates around them from all over (the ground up in a half circle and such), and when they're walking around. i'm ASSUMING they're using the same rig/mount for camera, but am curious if you know what it is. it looks as though it's attached to the talent and even as though they're the ones operating when the camera moves. any ideas on what it is?
B: the DOF on this, i think is LOVELY. i really like how it really drops off directly after the talent. do you know how they did this? looks like a thinner shutter and 60i, but what else would you do to create that sort of look? since the camera is sort of "locked off" is it possible they created the blur in post? but aside from that what else? just the typicals? longish lense/wide open aperture? i'm thinking this would be even harder on video though...
anyways! your input on the two would be greatly appreciated -- or maybe even a "this is how i'd have done it" ha ha.

ps: had the lovely chance to work w/ your fellow members Bob Primes and John Leonetti in the past few months. have you met either of them?
edit: i've found a still as well (it's rather tiny though, best i could do) for reference...might help?
