is there anything called as VERTICAL CINEMASCOPE.

the thing is i heard about this in an ad of a video song where they tell that "THIS IS THE FIRST VIDEO WHICH IS SHOT IN vertical cinemascope".
i don't even know weather it shot in the VIDEO or FILM formet......

sO CAN ANYONE TELL ME ANYTHING ABOUT VERTICAL CINEMASCOPE

I think it was basically a sideways projected CinemaScope frame to create a vertical image for a multi-media expo in the 1970's, not for cinema use.

but i didn't understand that SIDEWAY PROJECTION OF CINEMASCOPE [i.e how to project the image which was shot horizontally in the vertical manner] sir it may sound silly but even then plez bare me........ :lol:

The camera and projector are mounted on their sides to record and then project a vertical frame. The camera was not shooting a horizontal image, it was turned on its side to shoot a vertical image.

I suppose with the projector, there may be some method of using mirrors to turn the image 90 degrees sideways rather than laying the projector on its side.

It's not a format for any kind of cinema release. More for an art installation at a museum or something.
