hi everyone
I'm new to this forurm, looks exciting!
I want to shoot a little cutaway of the inside of a pocket: to show its contents; spare change, keys, etc.
Has anyone done this before? Got any tips?
thanks!

Hi,

Can't say I have ever had to film something like this... Interesting!

Anyway why not make a hole in a the jeans and lay them on the ground so that nothing falls out. Then film the camera pointing down towards the jeans. Lighting will be important, you may want it to be slightly dark as if to show the inside of the pocket. I'm sure someone else will have a better idea but that is how I would do it!

You could also try using a macro-lens but as for the lighting?

You could probably even rig up a fake pocket with some kind of support, and fire a light down into it, rather than trying to shoot into an actual pocket. If the fabric is thin enough, you might even be able to just light through it. Then, just make sure you're really tight, to avoid off-shoot. I agree with the person above...something with marco capabilities would be wise.

hey guys
good ideas -- I was thinking I'd just lay down a cloth napkin on an old coat, fill it with the coins and keys, light it so the center is visible but it drops off very quickly on either side, and throw a little vaseline on the lens (filter) as well to give it kind of an ambiguous feel. I don't know whehter its actually macro, but my bolex has a good close-up lens.
thanks for the tips!
