Im buying the XL2

i have decided to go wth the XL2 - its second hand, for a very good price

but, buying an imac and this camera, what else will i need to injest my footage to the computer? or can i just take it straight from the camera without any extra hardware? i ask because we use pana 100s on my course, and we have a minidv video seperate unit to injest from, into avid

You'll need a firewire with the right pin connections for your computer and your camera and that's about it.

the imac has usb and firewire sockets but...

will the camera not come with the correct cable?


also - the warranty u get from canon is only 12 months which im not too bothered about, cn u think of any other down sides to gettin a hardly used, mint condition second hand camera.

I think you're pretty good and if it doesn't come with a cable you can get one for about $15...$30 if you want a fancy retractable one with a button on it.
