Hello,
I'm a new member. I'm mainly interested in writing/directing but I'm extremely fascinated by photography and lighting. I used to play with a PD 150, but I certainly do not consider myself a DP.
Below is what I can say about myself, film production wise.
In 1997, I took two classes at Boston Film and Video Foundation in 16mm Film Production. At the end of my training I completed a silent, 17 minute 16 mm short, The Rabbit screened at BFVF. I edited it myself on a Steenbeck bench.
In 1998, I filmed a short, with sound, in16 mm (30 minutes). The Accident was screened at The West Palm Beach Independent Film Festival, FL and at the Tortured Artists Film Festival, Seattle WA.
In 1999, I filmed a documentary in a slaughterhouse in Swansea, Massachusetts. I gave the footage to
PETA and it can be found today on their site narrated by Alec Baldwin under the name of Meet your Meat.
In 2001, I started production of an independent film shot in DV called Trusting Julia that was not
completed because of insurmountable obstacles raised during filming.
Since 2001, I have devoted my time to writing. I have completed several stories. However the difficulty
in raising money, the lack of contacts in the industry, as well as the non-mainstream character of my stories have kept me from really being able to either sell them or raise money to film them.
I have a project that I'd like to film this summer and I'm wondering if there is a place on this forum where I could talk about it and look for collaborators. DP, sound person, etc.
Thanks
Hector
