Audacity has been around for quite a while. It is probably the best (free) audio editing software out there; we all use it as a quick go-to if we are not operating Pro Tools at the time. Pro Tools, of course, has more extensive features, but is not free and does require a more powerful computer. Audacity allows you to quickly listen to, edit, record, and manipulate audio clips -- and we all find it incredibly handy and useful. It is a free download! Everyone should have a copy on their desktop.
