From digital format to film

Sorry, Dana, I accidentally edited your post rather than reply to it...

If "digital camera" you mean a digital video camera, you're either shooting NTSC, PAL resolution or HD (720P, 1080i, 1080P).

Generally you would shoot and post at the native resolution and let the people doing the transfer to film uprez to whatever resolution they use for the film recorder.

Ask the people who are going to do the transfer for you. You'll get different answers from different companies, so it's best to go with the requirements of whichever company you're eventually going to use.
