You´re producing films by your own and would like to win a pize money? – That meets well, because in this case you´ve come to the right place!
We are five students at the Technical University of Ilmenau (Germany), who are studying "Applied Media and Communication Sciences" in the fifth semester.
Together with the association "Kulturelle Koordinierung", the marketing department of the university and the city administration of Ilmenau, we organize the Film Leben Festival this year.
This is a short film festival, which will take place from 08 to 11 July 2021 in the Goethe and university city Ilmenau. For the first time, the festival was held in 2012 and has since achieved great success every 2 years.
As part of the Film Leben Festival, short films submitted in advance will be screened to the public in various, thematically appropriate locations. The highlight is the award ceremony at the end of the event, where the screened films are judged by an expert jury and the winning film is determined.
The reason why we profit from your film submission is clear - we need short films, to screem them during the festival, but the benefit is also on your side, because on the winning film, a prize money of 1.000€ is offered. In addition, we give you the opportunity to create an audience for your work, so we help you to generate reach with your short film - after all, the work behind the production should be profitable, right?n addition, you have the opportunity to get the opinion of a competent jury.
Criteria to be met:
✓Lenght: Maximum 15 minutes
✓ Permitted genres: ▪ Crime/Thriller ▪ Comedy/Drama ▪ Animation, Horror ▪ Science-Fiction, ▪ Films for children and youth ▪ Dokumentation
✓ Speeches: German, English (subtitled)
✓ Films must be produced during or after 2018
✓ Not allowed are films that can corrupt the youth, have pornographic, extremist, violence glorifying, racist or other discriminatory content, as well as films that violate applicable law
✓ Allowed formats: .mov, .avi, .mpg, .mp4
✓ Audio-Bitrate: 128kb/s or more
✓ Quality: HD 720p, FullHD 1080p
✓ Frame rate: 24 fps (or more)
The film you produced meets all the criteria listed? - Great, then nothing stands in the way of your submission to the “Film Leben Festival”. From 01.03.2021 to 15.04.2021 you can submit your short film via the FilmFreeway platform. The submission process is super easy and won't cost you five minutes, registration is free. If your short film is screened at the festival, we will notify you by email.
