I'm sure all of you were once first timers trying to get into the business. My question is...how did you guys do it? No one is going to hire me for any job because I've taught myself FCP and I have no experience, and there are tons of people out there that have many years experience. So how can I break into this business? How do I even get any footage or experience to start creating my own demo reel? I'm confused and frustrated, any help is appreciated thank you.

you need to get to work. get some experience and show what you can do. get a small camera and shoot some footage or ask around and see if you can find someone on these forums or others that have some footage you can download and edit. practice and show what you can do. I will be happy to post your work on this site or set up a URL to show it if you are serious.
