im new to this whole game. im a new film director and screenwriter. i also have aspirations of starting my own film company. where do i start?

start with doing some reading

start with doing some reading

We have an excellent selection of books and discounts here in the bookstore. And, we are giving 5% of sales to the Tsunami victims.

I would get the "reflections" lighting book, the ASC Manual, the Video Manual, the New Cinematographer and the Kodak DVD "Lighting for Film" to start with.

Also, we are having a workshop with Roy Wagner, ASC here in NYC in March 26th you should def sign up for. I would not miss a chance to see Roy talk about making movies. It is an awsome inspirational workshop. he breifly covers pretty much everything in one day and then some.

In the most technical sense, the moment you create a film of any kind, you are already a company with a product.

As for actually gathering money from investors, that's way over my head. I think producers usually deal with that.
