Filming from inside and around a Vehicle

I've thought about filming a few vehicle scenes, not necessarily car chases but suspenseful vehicle sequences and was wondering if anybody knows any somewhat inexpensive ways to light and film scenes from inside and around vehicles. That includes dialog between subjects inside vehicles, exterior shots of moving vehicles, and stuff like that.
