Hi everyone! I am new to filmmaking and recently found a passion for it! I am eager to learn a lot of new tricks and trades to help in my filmmaking skills. One day I would love to own a film production company and make more family friendly films. My friends and I are currently in the pre-production stages of a project and have hit a roadblock. The premise of our story centers around a historical fort and mystery in our local area. We were trying to get a film permit to film on location at the fort but we were denied. My question is how plausible is it to recreate a fort and tunnels that we would be able to run through on a low budget? Is it possible to build a set or use miniatures to get the outside shots and then build a set for the inside parts? Has anyone ever done this before??? I am trying to think outside the box and be creative, but running out of resources. Thanks
