Film festivals seem to be one of the best paths if not the best path for filmmakers to exhibit their works and get the recognition, and distribution deals as well as financial backing for the next project. Additionaly, based on what I have read in David’s posts here in the forums I think he says he looked for films to work on that were going to be entered in film festivals. This is probably true for other talented filmmakers as well. So, there is the added benefit of attracting talent with the goal of entering in Film Festivals.
