Film Festival Tips

I would like to apply my short film for several film festivals. The short is an urban romantic comedy. I wanted to know if anyone had any tips on how to increase my chances of getting into a film festival. What film festivals I need to apply to? Which ones I should avoid? Any assistance and words of wisdom are appreciated
