Emmy Award Winner Lauren Greenfield Heads Lineup of Keynote Presenters at PhotoPlus

<p>Emerald Expositions, Inc. announced the two keynote presentations that will be featured during its <a href="http://www.photoplusexpo.com/index.shtml" target="_blank" data-mce-href="http://www.photoplusexpo.com/index.shtml">PDN PhotoPlus International Conference + Expo</a>, taking place October 21-24, 2015 at the Javits Convention Center in New York City. The art of "Real Life" filmmaking and photography take center stage during the first of two keynote presentations when documentary photographer and filmmaker and Emmy award winner Lauren Greenfield presents her latest project, "WEALTH: The Influence of Affluence" on Thursday, October 22. The second keynote will feature Dennis Keeley, chair of the Photo & Imaging department at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. moderating a panel of experts who will explore the growing interest in capturing everyday life known as the "Street Photograph" on Friday, October 23. Both keynote presentations are scheduled from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. and attendees are encouraged to register and attend these two important keynote presentations while seats are available. Entry into both keynote presentations is included with any PhotoPlus conference seminar pass, and those holding VIP Expo Passes will receive priority seating to both presentations.</p>

Lauren Greenfield is a prolific storyteller who takes important topics of the day and presents them in a way that is compelling, truthful, and thought-provoking. She is a powerful example for the PhotoPlus audience and a must-see at this year's show. "In addition," Ms. Wendle continued, "Dennis Keeley, along with a panel of experts will explore the evolution of street photography as it has emerged through social media to address the ‘global street' during the keynote presentation on Friday."</p>

<p>Set against the backdrop of the financial crisis of 2008 and its aftermath, award-winning documentary photographer <strong>Lauren Greenfield</strong> will share her latest work, <strong>WEALTH: The Influence of Affluence</strong>, a 25-year examination of how the ideas of wealth and the American Dream have been productized, exported, and manifested around the globe.</p>
<p>Long considered a preeminent chronicler of youth culture, gender and consumerism, Greenfield is the author of three best-selling monographs (Fast Forward, Girl Culture and THIN), an award-winning director of four documentary films (THIN, kids+money, Beauty CULTure, and The Queen of Versailles), and the director of the international viral video #likeagirl, which she recently received and Emmy award for at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards in Los Angeles.</p>
<p>In Fall 2016, Phaidon will publish a major monograph of the work, alongside related exhibitions at the Annenberg Space for Photography in L.A. and the International Center of Photography in New York (including an original 30 minute documentary film).</p>
