I was wondering. I've always edited from one camera (that's all I have ) anyways, I may get more, but I need toknow what issues I'll run into if I try to edit using 24p and 30i in the same project.
there really wont be any issues you run into... as long as you remember to CONVERT your 24p format into 30i format... or your 30i into 24p depending on your intended final out-put.
Though, how to do this will depend most on which program you are using.
And if you don't, there'll be a lot of issues . Most editing programs can handle different formats and frame sizes on one timeline, but not different frame rates.
Thanx for the hedz up. I'm not sure which editing software. I have liquid edition 5.5, but I am REALLY not happy with it. Thought of going with avid express dv. Any advice?[/i][/u]
Yeah, I couldn't handle Edition for long: it was far too buggy for my taste. I used it to get a cheap upgrade to Avid Xpress Pro when Avid were doing a competitive upgrade deal .
Avid have a free downloadable editor for DV, but it lacks a lot of features (most importantly, you can't transfer projects to any other Avid software) and I don't think it's been updated in a while. May be worth giving that a try to see what you think of it before spending money on a full version.
