Hi,
I am a musician and I with my band have recently recorded a demo and we want to get a professional package together to send to the usual potential clients. . We plan to publish around 1000 CDs with the relevant details (Band Name, Song Titles and Contact Details) printed on the CD. But we are very much confused that what we should have to use CD duplication or CD replication. If anyone of you have any ideal about this and its provider then please help me.
All suggestions and tips are welcome

For a 1000 CDs you should use replication.

Duplication entails copying a CD, piece by piece to a CD-R (something you could actually do yourself on a computer).

Replication involves creating a glass master and then making a large number of discs from that master. This is the type of CDs sold in music stores.

The cost of replication is much lower than the cost of duplication. But you need to have that master and that adds a fixed amount to the cost of replication.

Because of that, if you are making just a few copies, it is cheaper to duplicate them. If you are making a large number of copies, it is cheaper to replicate them (it also looks more professional).

Hence, for a 1000 you should go with replication.

It’s better if you ask experts that provide both duplication as well as replication.
