now that's something I could use. But I'm leery about how well it works, considering iPod hard drives only spin at about 4500RPM. That's not really fast enough for video to be encoded to a drive without dropping frames. I'll have to read some more about that.

good point, chris. plus the site has very little documentation. they mention "any" ipod but say it works with any usb2 drive. my ipod is firewire..mc
