Camera Manuals

When ever i want to know how to do something I turn to books and people that know how to do what i want to do. The great thing about books is that i can take in the information as fast or slow as I desire.

To operate a camera don't you start with reading the manual for the camera? Don't most manuals cover all the basic functions of the equipment pretty well?

The manufacturer's user manual should definitely be read, no doubt.
However, with some of the more popular camera models, like the XL and the DVX for example, there are a host of specialty user manuals available that also explore the basics, but tie in extra tips and tricks. These books tend to be much easier to read as they’re written by real world users, not just the engineers.
These types of books are highly recommended for the professional user or even the enthusiast who’s looking to fully utilize the camera to the best of its abilities, as well as unlocking their own capabilities as a user.
