The run down: I have a Panasonic DVC30. I am filming a doc. in a humid climate. I need audio that is versatile. Ideally I would like one mic that can be used both as a stick and a shotgun. The mic would most often be used as a stick though. The type of filming I will be doing will not be cold interviews. I will be following people around in their natural environment ordinarily. Being able to hear clear dialogue is key. I was hoping to get a good stick that would be good for up to 5 ft and then a lav. But how to use them at the same time? A field mixer? Is there another way?

What I have looked into:
First I will need a XLR adapter. I have looked at the Pan. AG-MYA30G.
Second for mics I have looked at both the Senn. MKE300 and the ME64 (but I am leaning towards the ME64 for its versatility). I have yet to research wireless mics.

Can someone tell me what they would recommend? Especially those of you that have done this sort of work, please speak up. I am welcome to all suggestions.

Thanks. V
