Anybody got exp. with these cams?

Hello everyone.

After hours and weeks of searching and reading reviews ive decided on choosing between 2 cameras, and i wanted to hear if anybody can recommend any of them. Im into pure documentary shape filming, but i value a nice picture and i really need something practical for a laptop (transfer), editing and so on..... since im travelling thru U.S and most of europe.

Anyhow these 2 cams im argueing with myself about. hope somebody can help me out with some tips. (other options are welcome, but i must say i dont have alot of money and i know i want the 3ccd). thanks

the second one, just for the fact that, the lens is larger... and this should result in better optics.. but the again this is JVC were talking about. And they buy parts to make their cameras.. jvc? :?
