(New York, NY) StudentFilmmakers.com (www.studentfilmmakersforums.com), bringing together students, professors, independent filmmakers, and professional members of the motion picture industry, announces the “Low-Budget Feature Filmmaking Seminar with Michael Goi, ASC.” The event is open to the public, and will be held at the French Institute Alliance Française, Florence Gould Hall Theater, in New York, on Saturday, June 19, from 6:00pm to 9:30pm.
In this three-hour event, Michael Goi, ASC, who wrote and directed the feature film, “Megan is Missing,” will talk about how to accomplish a feature film using limited resources and a small crew, how to shoot from the POV of the various mobile, computer and web-based cameras, and how he wrote the script entirely based on real occurrences, as well as aesthetic choices to be made for a film that raises awareness. "Megan is Missing" is a fictional drama based on actual events, about two teenage girls who encounter an internet predator.
There will be a pre-release benefit screening of the feature film, “Megan is Missing” with the film’s producer, Mark Gragnani, lead actress Amber Perkins, and president and founder of KlaasKids Foundation Mark Klaas. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with the speakers in a moderated Q&A session.
Michael Goi, ASC, an accomplished cinematographer with 50+ credits on top television shows such as "The Mentalist," and "My Name Is Earl", is President of the ASC and a member of the Board of Governors. He is also a member of the Academy Of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), the Academy Of Television Arts And Sciences, and serves on the National Executive Board of the International Cinematographers Guild.
