It means that FCP does not recognize your camera. If the camera has worked before with your FCP system, try restarting your computer leaving the camera attached and turned on. If the camera has never worked before, it is probably because the camera is not compatible with the FCP system (see my previous response). JimT
This is partly true, though you don't have to totally restart your system - just make sure the camera is connected and in VTR mode when you launch log & capture. If it's still showing 'no communication' after this, just check your capture settings haven't been changed to 'non-controllable device'.
