This is, unfortunately, a very broad request.
My first suggestion would be to do a Google search for some free tutorials on the internet.
Dean Velez is a great teacher for AE and he has lots of free projects on his site:

CreativeCow.net is also a forum site where you can find quite a few useful AE tutorials...again, for no cost.
Short of buying books and training DVDs, these are the best methods I know to start out. You can't really start from scratch and "ask" your way to getting up and running. You have to sit and spend some time working with it yourself as it's not a program that any two people work with in the same way.
