Student Filmmakers Forums welcomes participation from manufacturers, software developers, service providers, and organizations involved in filmmaking and video.

We believe direct participation from the people who build tools and services can be valuable to the community when done thoughtfully.

What’s Encouraged

You are welcome to:
  • Share information about your products, software, tools, or services
  • Answer questions about how your tools work
  • Provide helpful explanations, tips, or best practices
  • Support members who are using or asking about your products
  • Participate in discussions beyond your own offerings
Being present and helpful matters more than promotion.

What’s Not Encouraged

Please do not:
  • Post links to your products and then disappear
  • Use the forum only as an advertising channel
  • Repeatedly promote without contributing to discussion
  • Avoid engaging with questions or feedback from members
Drive-by promotion does not help the community and may be removed.

Sharing Websites, Tools, and Resources

Members are encouraged to:
  • Share favorite filmmaking websites and resources
  • Recommend tools, platforms, and services they find useful
  • Introduce new filmmaking-related websites or communities
  • Include relevant websites or communities in their signature, when appropriate
The goal is to connect filmmakers with tools, organizations, and resources that help them create.

The Big Picture

This forum exists to bring together:
  • Filmmakers
  • Creators
  • Educators
  • Tool makers
  • Organizations
When companies participate as real people — answering questions and supporting users — everyone benefits.

Helping Student Filmmakers, Video Makers, and Creators

If you are here to contribute, help, and engage, you are welcome.
If you are here only to post links and leave, this is not the right place.

Thank you for helping build a connected, useful filmmaking community.
