DVD settings in Final cut pro?

Hey. If you use the basic DV - Pal setting in FCP you´ll be just fine. It all depend on how big your project is. There are some simple pre-setts in compressor, if that´s what your using. There you can also modify your compression to fit your needs.

    Euro Markets

Hey. I know little (well, nothing really) about fance and italy. I myself live in Sweden, and I must say. To break in into the Swedish market is pretty hard. But it also depend on who you are. If you done some work in the states (have a reel), speaks the languge and have the papers you need, you...

Importing video from DVDs into Final Cut Pro?

A good why to get the both out is to use a rip program. Over all vob files are a pain to handle, so I would convert them to QT files. I never really do stuff like this myself, but I think mac the ripper should do the trick. Good luck

    External Hard Drive + FCP

To use an external drive is great in many ways. But you CAN use a internal drive just as well. (But some work in and it will be better then firewire). Filmosity is right in terms of not working from the same disc that your system is on. Instead you can have as many as 4 hard drives in many PM...

    That first script...

I must say, I haven´t looked at my first script for years now. But I remeber it very well. I diden´t wirte it until I was 19, seams late then I think about it. I remeber that I wanted to wirte something very dark and negative. It was hard on me getting in the mindset to do so. I will not...

EXPORT UNCOMPRESS from Final Cut to AE and return to FCP

Your problem is that you work offline. You will never get good quality when you export from offline. If you want to keep working offline you shuold do it in AE as well. Dodo

Does a student really need his/her own camera?

I´m with MarkG. The question is not so simple. When I was in school, I diden´t have one, but a classmate had one. He diden´t use much. On the other hand he also had a G4 (this was a few years ago) that he used on almost daily. On the other side if your school has very few cameras, then you can...

    Music in film

I think you are almost right temerson. From what I know about the USA laws (the same gose for a big part of the world), most of what you said is correct. But a few things are missing. Here the A´s Dodo style. All music right are basiclly split in two. The rights to the song itself and the...

musiv video: set design....creating the illusion

You can always go old school. shake the camera. If you want to get a bit more high tech, you can put a solid color all around the cube and take it out in post. Then fix a background and just digitally shake the cube. Not the best way, but it shuold be cheap.

    A More Clever Way.

My opinion (the key word here is "opinion") is that, may times narration is over used or used to clearify things that doesen´t need it. As I see it, narration is best used when the story is told from the narrators point of view. This dosen´t mean that the narrator can´t be the main character...

    Cinema Across The Pond

Since both your projects are based in history, might be able to be able to get other goverment ograns to push in some money. I don´t know how the Frence goverment is set up, but if there is a branch that handle history (might be the same as tends for museums), here in Sweden, they can sometimes...

We meet once more. (posted on another of your threads if you haven´t seen it yet). You wrote that you were looking to do a few projects. What do you mean by that. Fiction or doc.? I´m from Sweden, and here one way to get funding is from TV-stations. They can sometimes co-produce, but most want...

    Mac or PC???

I must go against the stream here. I agree that it really is the content that count, but it´s always good to know more then one editing program. The one´s to know now days is Avid and Final Cut. I´m not going to go into which you should use, but by using a PC you limit yourself since Final cut...

    program?

Hey Th. If you have a PC, then you will NOT be able to run final cut pro on it, since it only runs on Mac. Since you are in the PC world, I would say: go with Avid. Avid is used world-wide by pros´ and the is not one program, but a whole line up. As your skills grow you can upgrade.

    New to the scene

Hey Jeremy. I had a look at you trailer. I´m a honest guy so don´t take this as an insult. I had a hard time understanding what the film was about. I mean, I get that it is a horror movie, but then what? I had to read the synopsis know what the films plot is.
