    DVD video question and editing in FCP

    FCP FCP Mac the ripper is a good program also. I've used handbrake and I haven't had a problem with it. What version of FCP are you using? FCP 5 has no trouble importing mp4s on my system. But like you said if AVIs work then rip the dvd to AVIs.
