Everyone went off topic and had to defend their program of choice :P haha. I'll tell you all this much. If you want to edit movies, then use a program that does just that. If you want to do a sound mix, use Pro-Tools... if you want to paint a picture Use a canvas with paint. It doesnt...

    Adding New Cameras/Decks

no prob. And probably the reason why they didnt put the GL2 on there was because the generic deck thing solves most deck problems. I'm guessing the GL1 is a more finicky camera to get control over from firewire. I'm happy to help

man you totaly dont want a Mac. And I'll tell you why. Final Cut Pro, although an easy software to use and powerfull, is still not what the industry uses as a standard. Avid is an industry standard. Be it TV or Cinema. Almost every big one uses Avid. Secondly, Macs are becoming MORE And...

    Deployment Strategy: 1st completed sequence!!!!

Not bad Mark, nice props. Good score for the film. Sounds fitting for the perticular film. Only think I could notice is possibly the air craft sound dropping from space, is it? or flything through the sky? Maybe a little diagetic sound to build the realism aspect of your sci-fi world...

    "Saving Private Ryan" technique

Most of the effects you would want to do to get this are done in camera before it even gets to post. Then you would get a REALLLLLY good telecini done to your film and then in post you would be able to apply color effects with an after efects program. Not with the editing software its self.
