Jetlai, I wish you the best of luck in your endeavor. My #1 piece of advice would be to learn dramatic structure. One you understand the theory behind what makes a movie attractive to an audience from a story structure point of view, it makes everything else easier. I would like to invite you...

Final Cut Express HD setting for exporting to Youtube?

Does YouTube have a way to display 16 x 9 properly? I see a lot of distorted vids there. Is there a better solution than letterboxing? Can it properly back-distort anamorphic?

    Whats a good start?

    which camera??

Look into the Canon HV20 and the Panasonic HDC-SD5. The Canon records a compressed HDV 1080i to miniDV tape. You can find this camera for under $1000 if you shop around. The Panasonic records AVC-HD straight to memory cards. These sell for about $800. Both should serve you well for years to...

What's the best camera for under $1000?

Consider the Canon HV20. It records a compressed HDV 1080i to miniDV tape. You can find this camera for under $1000 if you shop around. The super-cool part is you can send 1920 x 1080 out the HDMI port. With this setup, you can capture amazing uncompressed HD resolution straight to your...
