Most of the 16 mm stock is 1 ridge, nowdays. You can chek on the stock box the mention "1R" for 1 ridge, "2R" for 2 ridges Super 16 is usually 1.66, but you'll have to print 35 anyways, though you can project your dailies print super 16 with a double roll projector, with the sound print on 16...

hello ! Since the shape of the flared image is the one of the iris, you need a lens that has a triangular iris. Some zeiss lenses have a sort of round triangular iris, maybe other optics have, I don't know. Another easy solution is you to make it in post, then you can give it the shape you want...

Mind that if you have many shots intercutting with oneother, you might not get such a "flowing" atmosphere. The cuts cut the action, not make it "flow" (if I understand you well) each shot has to be justified somehow, by what it shows. if you cut and move the camera from one place to another...
