new to boards & need help w/convert film to digital

Yep, but that would cost quite a lot of money, and if you would tell us what computer you have, then it could be considered if your actual PC/MAC can handle it. Putting film (I mean s8, 16 mm, 35 mm) on a computer is not as esay as what you plan to do which is actually putting video on your...

    new tv series

Sounds to me like the original question has been asked before here somewhere... Make a research with the search engine, i guess you could find it out. Just a tip I would give : work with low contrast light, may be filter a bit with BPM or some low con filter you like and mind the skys...

    Unidentifiable Lens flare issue

If the antiflare multicoating is really damaged, may be it could do something, I don't know, but may be it can be not the lens itself but what is linked to it, matte box... Did you shoot inside or outside, with 85 on the lens on these shots ? I mean, is this flare bluish ?

    Unidentifiable Lens flare issue

You should try to find out what was the common parameter for all the shots that present this phenomenom. Is it all the way thru on a roll, only some takes ? By checking the reports, you can find out if it was always with the same magazine... Also you should talk to your kodak dealer as they...

    IMDB listing

Don't worry they accept the updates pretty well. The most difficult I found was to have new films in their database cause they ask for the budget, first public release... But for cast and crew, no problem. It only takes a few days (about a week to 10 days I think). The thing is they don't let...

    Reflections

"playing" with both reflection and backgroung can also be done with a polarizing filter, that may estinguish the reflections. One could imagine a reflection appear in the shot or disappear, why not ? When you meter the reflected face, you actually meter both reflectance at the same spot ...

    Back in the Saddle

The concept is not new... There used to be 16 mm then 9.5 then 8 then super 8 then Betamax, VHS, S-VHS, Hi 8, digital 8, now we're on dv, that's all! :D

    Reversal stock

16 mm reversal was mostly used for tv news reels and documentary before video came out inthe late 70s. Basically because you would gain time in processing (one process and you're done instead of 2 with a neg/pos chain) "Delicatessen" was bleach skipped for instance

    showcase films

I'm very happy to see more and more films here in the showcase, and I must confess I was much seduced by the quality and originality of them. I see people posting comments in the cafe, but the topics get a bit lost in this section. Kim has created a new section : essays, critics... and though...

    lighting a bluescreen

Mr Wagner, I've seen the Bogen system at the satis last week. It actually is a 3m scotchlite screen that is used. It looks very clever, I was amused to see 2 different other systems based on the same trick there but I forgot to ask a question : i'd like to know how you determine the background...
