    Reversal stock

I realize I made a mistake... it wasn't skip bleach it was skip accelerator... anyway, David is right, the positive was, not the neg... (I was working at Eclair when Yvan Lucas did the timing). As to Mr Boyer's quote, it is a real problem when you overexpose reversal. I can't tell what it...

    Normal Lens

a "normal" focal length is the one, in a considered format, that gives the same angle of view as the human eye. There of course are some approximations, since the human eyes don't have a rectangular field of view and we have the ability of somehow "zoom" into our field of view. That's where...

    Black Balancing

yes, and it would give you a wrong balance. Actually, when you do the balance, the iris goes automatically in the "C" position, you get a msg in the vf saying "black operating" and, when it's done, "black ok". If you get "black pb" or "black not ok", make sure the iris gets properly to the C...

    Black Balancing

The purpose is to have a black balance, just as you need a white balace, ie have a non color black ie no color dominante in the blacks. The thing is the white balance depends on the ligth you have on the set or in the location you shoot, so you use a white board to balance the highlights. The...

    Careers in Video/Film

Historically, as news gathering were shot in film, camera operators were the same people. It was just a personal carreer that made one or another work for motion pictures or news gathering. Of course, the fact that most of the news reels and corporate films were then shot on video since the...

Forgot to say, there must be a way to make a 60 MB or more film weight only 50, it all depends on the encoding options, doesnt' it ?

    How does it work?

May be they could stay in the same section, but a sign could mention films that are in the contest ? (that would be and advert for the contest as well!)

I am going to delete the nasty reviews

Hi all, I think you Kim should have no state of heart in deleting posts, as a administrator, if you want to. I don't see how anyone could seriously make a fuss about that. I mean, if they want to piss you off, they don't have to wait until you delete their posts to do so, and I don't see no...

About "y'a des jours comme ça"

About the exposition scene, that someone commented : do you understand french or not ? I consider the exposition is done when the main character arrives by the school, driving, and sees the dealer work. The whole situation is setup. The thing is, for sure, that the driving sequence is too long...

About "y'a des jours comme ça"

"Funny" thing, the reviews on this film I posted have disapeared... Someone asked "is it really a student film ?" or something like that. As I mentionned in the showcase, it's a gradutating film of my students in Cannes, France (not Germany...). As they are technical students, they don't...
