Why use completely expensive cameras nowadays?

This the first answer that I got that makes any sense and points to the most important: the future is yet uncertain.

Why use completely expensive cameras nowadays?

No, I mean Netflix as production companies, not their stream service.

Why use completely expensive cameras nowadays?

But I'm not talking about using a camera for 10 years. You can buy a new low budget, high quality camera every year or every two years. And quality demands for whom? If people stop going to film theaters for 5 more years, will the traditional industry be able to produce several hundred million...

Why use completely expensive cameras nowadays?

The question I'm rising , considering comparison tests that were made some time ago, comparing several cameras going from $3,000 to 15,000 with Arri Alexa were far from ridiculous, as you suggest. Low budget prime lenses have got even better, and I believe new tests should be carried out. Of...

Why use completely expensive cameras nowadays?

You seem to miss my point, or you just disagree with it. My main point is centered on your phrase: "If you are ok with Full HD or 4k and you value talent more than the quality of your tools". Who mentioned full HD (1080p) or 4K? I started with a 6K camera, similar in price and capability to...

Why use completely expensive cameras nowadays?

This is a question I make myself that I don't see being discussed and I think should be. Why use a $300,000 to 500,000 or more Arri Alexa, Red, Sony Alta or Panasonic camera, even if the latter cost a bit less, if the prospect for the next 10 years is quite likely that the film won't be seen in...

    Mic suggestions?

No, there were no converters involved. They were connected into the Nagra IVS recorder, which could power T or phantom mics. And they do not use the same internal components, as polarizing is done in a different way. I haven't done the test with the P48 and T + converter yet.

    Mic suggestions?

Well, not exactly. You were not too clear on your explanation on what was what, and I tried to put things right without getting too technical. Once again, this is not quite right. When the P48 version was released, we made some tests comparing T/AB version with P version, and the former...

    Mic suggestions?

If I am not wrong, the 416T version is for T power, not phantom. They are incompatible. You need a P48 version. But there's a PSC tube that will convert 48v phantom onto T power. It's around $50.

    Dialogue writing books

I am looking for books that might help me refine my dialogue writing. Even if I have written several screenplays, the final dialogues were usually something that was finished during rehearsals. So I got used to write rather "raw" dialogues, that may not impress the person who reads by itself...
