JUNGLE SOFTWARE - want to buy? Gorilla Scheduling Budgeting Chimpanze StoryO Koala

Double check your Terms of Service with the software...sometimes the versions the create for prizes aren't always full versions and prohibited from resale. If that is not the case, the software is pretty robust, lots in there.

    Crowd-Funding Success

I think the misconception on this topic is whether you are raising capital for your business as made possible in yhe JOBs act or you are using crowdfunding in the normal way (pre-sales of products/items in order to raise working capital to create the product). The JOBs act allowed investors to...

    About various takes

I never understood the 3 items - that is more of a European approach. In the US we usually it listed as "Roll, Scene, Take" Roll is what camera roll you are on. Each time you reload the camera you change the Roll #. Scene is the shot you are doing (1A, 1B, 1C, etc.) and take is how many times...

Business,in the scriptwriting art,how it works?,im new in this

A very small percentage of people make a living off of selling spec scripts. Probably the most common form of making money as screenwriter is through ghost writing or being hired to do rewrites. To get to that level it usually takes a lot of practice a lot of spec scripts, etc. The first...

    About various takes

Yeahp, exactly. Scene 1= 2 shot Scene 1A = OTS Scene 1B = ECU (Extremem Close Up) when you run out of letters you double them up 1AA 1BA 1CA or a variation of that...but hopefully you don't have that many shots for your scene.. that would be super, super complicated.

    About Shot list

Of course, get the coverage you need to tell the story. But i would highly recommend getting the actors to do the scene in its entirety for each set-up/angle/shot. You'll get better performances and it will speed up shooting. If you do one line at a time you will feel it in the edit.

    About Shot list

There really is not set "Best" length for either. Watch Russian Ark - the entire movie was shot in one single take or Orson Well's "Touches of Evil" the opening shot was about 12 mins long...or more recently the opening scene for "La La Land". As far as scene length...it is the same thing...

    About various takes

A take is each time the shot is rolled on a piece of action. So, let's say the actor says "Hi, how are you?" - for each time the actor performs "Hi, how are you?" with the camera in the same position it is considered a "take". So take 1, take 2, take 3, etc. is the number of times that scene...

True Life Events Make into Movies

That's a good question...haven't really thought about that. I guess that is where E&O (Errors & Omissions) insurance comes in. Most distributors won't sell a movie unless you have it (in fact they shouldn't sell it unless you have it or they provide it), I guess that is also why there are so...

    iMovie Export Problem

The saying goes, the best editor is the one you have. With that being said, some people love Final Cut Pro X, I'm not a fan so far, but it may be an easy jump from working in iMovie. I really like Adobe Premiere - also AVID is what a lot of people use in Hollywood (both cost roughly the...

    iMovie Export Problem

I'm not familiar with iMovie, although I feel like I'm cutting with it using FCPX, but I'd imagine there is advance setting you can click on. Try exporting as Uncompressed, ProRes or H.264...(H.264 make sure your bit rate is set high...may nothing less than 6mb...I usually set mine up to...

    Katie says goodbye script

A word of caution, be very careful about sharing scripts without permission. Pretty much all production companies have non-disclosure agreements in place with the screenwriters and copyright owners. Sharing scripts have potential of breaching those agreements. If you exchange a script for any...

    3G-SDI Over Fiber

Of course. I'm really curious to know how it turns out. It sounds super cool! The last time I was working broadcast we were only building a switching room for a University and that was SD over SDI...so it's been awhile since I've been in that world. Good luck!

    3G-SDI Over Fiber

Wow, I'm not sure. Where are you broadcasting 6K? 4K is hardly even a standard and I think 8K was first run only a few months ago in Japan for something. And 30km of fiber? You have me very intrigued. Any broadcaster experts out there know? This sounds like it is not possible...but then...

    The director's main responsibility

It is one of my favorite. I read it before every movie I direct and the write up a cheat sheet version and put it in a binder with my script so it looks like I took notes on the script as opposed to going to a book with all the answers :-). Great, fantastic book.

Automatic Video Transcription? Does Dragon Dictate work?

This might not be the best option for quality work, but it will get you a good head start. Try uploading your audio to YouTube, set it private, let the automatic transcription do its thing, then download the transcription file. You'll likely have to edit it but will be a step towards completion.

    Online Screenwriting Courses?

Probably the thing I liked best about Corey's class was the tools that were taught for writing compelling screenplays. It was not a story paradigm method, he teaches the tools needed for writing a scene in conflict and then expands from there. One of the best classes I have taken.
