Unfortunately, in regard to ballasts it is not this cut and dry. Unless the electronic ballast is Power Factor Corrected (most ballasts under 6kw are not PFC) it will in fact draw more power than a comparably sized magnetic ballast. Take the 1200W Power Class for example: Power Factor Correction...
