For about 14 years, the trumpet has been my main instrument, and over the years I have performed both classical music and jazz, earning awards and honors through both styles. My composing endeavors began as a hobby in 2007, and since then my original music has been featured on numerous websites, performed by professional musicians, and played a big role in two award-winning short films.
Growing up, my two biggest interests were actually music and film. For a while, I took classes focusing on film and TV Production. My family's background is deeply rooted in music, so when I inevitably decided to focus all my efforts on composition, this knowledge of visual storytelling in film became invaluable when I began writing underscores for various short films and independent projects, because I am able to communicate on a higher level with directors and video producers, in order translate their ideas into music.
