Lighting and camera for film and television have changed completely in the past ten years. As productions are expected to move faster and faster with increasing levels of complexity, there is very little room for the technician to become proficient or even keep up with the onslaught of technological innovations that have defined our industry in recent years. Even film schools and local unions struggle to keep up.
Filmscape Chicago seeks to answer this question by providing two days of completely free education for technicians, film students, and local filmmakers. We bring in industry standards vendors to exhibit their newest technologies, and the best of the best industry technicians and artists to share their expertise with our audience.
We also seek to highlight the exceptional facilities and resources that Chicago offers to productions looking for a home. From our outstanding rental houses and production companies to our expert crew, Chicago is a first rate city for film and television production.
Filmscape Chicago is comprised of technicians and educators who have worked in and around Chicago as it has grown to the city it is now. We are so excited for August’s event and what it can do for this community, and we hope to see you there.
