Hello all! I proudly say that I started out with zero connections in the film/TV production industry. That's a badge of honor to me: having had to forge my own path. First by making home movies in my backyard and sharing them on
YouTube with 2,000,000+ viewers. Then by working as a videographer on dozens of films and videos nationwide. And most recently, by writing the first book all about the entry-level lifestyles of production assistants in showbiz:
"Gofers: On the Front Lines of Film and Television."
At Robert H. Goddard Middle School 202, I began developing technical skills by studying broadcast TV and hosting the New York City public TV show, Alive in Five. Then there were community theater stints as Romeo, Robin Hood, and perhaps most handsomely, Raoul, Vicomte de Chagny in The Phantom of the Opera. Back behind the scenes, I studied stage management at Christ the King Regional High School and received my dual B.A. in Film Production and TV/Radio at CUNY Macaulay Honors College at Brooklyn College.
Today, I'm my own boss at
Passing Planes Productions LLC. I'm proudly self-employed as a videographer, video editor and writer and always bring my highest energy to every single project I'm a part of. Until we meet in person, here's wishing you safe travels,
Daniel Scarpati
