I tried making a costume once...it was so hard I eventually gave up. It's hard work to make a good costume, especially a medieval one. Back then, tailors put many hours into making those clothes that could, in some cases, last a lifetime!
Do you have other lens except the ones you wish to purchase? Maybe you can use them in your new step and buy something that you don't have to fill in the gaps.
