Just registered and thought I would say HI :D

I have been in the video business for about 4 years now and always looking for places to share ideas.

Currently working on training videos and small productions.

Currently using two Sony CCD-V5000 pro units that I had rebuilt a couple years ago.
I load all my material directly into Vegas 5.0 with a digital8 camcorder/firewire and then do all my editing.

Hoping that the next year or so will allow some upgrades to the camcorder equipment, possibly a new Cannon or Panasonic Mini DV unit.

Best to all

Doing pretty good.
Just trying to get a small production house up and running.
56 YO now and been a commercial trucker for the last 18 years and tired of it.
I have my editing room pretty well set up now and can turn out some fair stuff.

Looking for small jobs to start and then on to upgrade my equipment as I go.

Thanks for asking.

Hey, Snowy. What part of the country are you in?

Another old fart here--51--getting into 16mm as a hobby.

Well things are progressing

I landed some work doing some promotional work for a couple bands.

OMG trying to get good video in a poorly lit night club is the pits but the Old Sony V5000 came through for me.

I also had my Cannon L1 in the slugging it out too and got some usable footage.

The band was in one end of the night club right under a bank of huge LCD TV screens that were playing sports.

No spot lights on the band either and no way to set up lighting and not bother the patrons. ( I was hired by the band not the club SOOOOOOOOOO)

Fall back 30 and punt eh??

Opened the Iris's up to the stops and Let it rip.

Between the horrible lighting and people constantly walking in front of the camera I could scream, but its done and I used everything that was bad about this whole thing along with some creative ideas to make a nice promo for the band.

Best
